Your first week with Canopy Connect sets the pace for every quote after it. Some agents send a few links and figure out the rest as they go. The agents who get the most out of it handle a few small setups early, before the busy days arrive. Each takes a few minutes and keeps paying off long after.

The Resource Hub walks you through each one. Log into your dashboard, click Resources in the top right toolbar, and you're in.

1. Put your link three keystrokes away

Sending your link should feel like second nature. The easier it is to share, the more often it goes out, and the sooner it becomes part of every conversation you have with a prospect.

A quick phone setup gets you there. You save your Canopy Connect link as a text shortcut and pick a short word like "canopy." Type that word and your phone fills in the full link, whether you're in a text, an email, or a social message. The setup lives in your keyboard settings and takes about a minute.

You can also add Canopy Connect to your home screen as an app icon, which puts your dashboard one tap away when you're out of the office.

Why week one: Habits form early. Set this up now and sharing your link becomes automatic, with prospects getting it in your first message.

2. Turn on Trailhead

A bare intake link works like a blank door. A prospect clicks and lands on a form with no idea who sent it. Trailhead puts your name on that door. Before anyone shares their information, they see your photo, title, and contact details, or your agency's branding if you prefer.

Setup takes two stops in the dashboard:

  1. Go to Settings → Profile and add your name, photo, title, phone, website, and social links.
  2. Go to the Links page, click the pencil icon on any link, and scroll to the Trailhead section at the bottom. Choose Agent View to lead with you or Company View to lead with your agency.

Prospects then move into the same sharing options you already set up. The intake stays the same. The first impression gets a lot warmer.

Why week one: Trust comes before data. Referral partners can share your Trailhead link with their own clients, who arrive already knowing who you are. A referral feels intentional instead of anonymous. Trailhead is available on the Elevate, Peak, and Summit plans.

3. Install PolicyPaste

Verified data saves you time only when it reaches your rater without retyping. PolicyPaste is a Chrome extension (it works in Edge too) that takes data from a Canopy Connect submission and fills online forms for you, carrier rating applications included. Dropdowns and radio buttons populate along with everything else.

Admins can find it under Integrations in the bottom left of the dashboard. Click PolicyPaste, then View Integration to reach the download page. Anyone can also search "Canopy Connect PolicyPaste" and grab it from the first result.

A few habits worth learning on day one:

  • Hit Alt+Shift+P on a PC or Control+Shift+P on a Mac to paste without clicking the extension.
  • If a carrier opens its form in a pop-up window, right-click anywhere on the page. PolicyPaste appears in the menu.
  • If a field won't fill, map it once. Click the settings icon in the extension, choose the data point, click Map Field, then click the field on the page. PolicyPaste remembers it for that site.

Why week one: Retyping is where errors creep in and minutes disappear. Learn PolicyPaste before your first heavy quoting day and you'll never go back. It's available on the Elevate, Peak, and Summit plans.

4. Connect your integrations

Verified data does the most good when it lands where you already work. Canopy Connect connects to comparative raters, agency management systems, and CRMs, including PL Rating, Applied Epic, EZLynx, HawkSoft, and AgencyZoom. For tools without a prebuilt integration, Zapier links Canopy Connect to thousands of apps like HubSpot and Salesforce.

Admins can find the full list under Integrations in the bottom left of the dashboard. Pick your rater, AMS, or CRM and follow its setup steps. Then send a test link to yourself and confirm the submission shows up where you expect it.

Why week one: Every submission that arrives before you connect is one you'll move by hand. Hook up your systems early and new prospects flow into your rater or CRM from day one, with no double entry.
